The Rise of Indian movies
Nowadays, Indian movies have spread to other countries beside India itself.
Take for example the movie “Awarapan” starred by a Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi that’s internationally ventured by a Pakistani and was not produced in India and “Khuda ke Liye”, that hasĀ Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah as a cameo. The movie itself is a Pakistani movie talking about the sensitive subjects of religion and militancy.
Nadeem Mandviwalla, a popular exhibitor, distributor and the owner of the landmark Nishat cinema in Karachi thinks that the success of these two films will bring hope for the film industry in Pakistan despite the restrictions on Indian films.
Meanwhile, thanks to the scene in a court room that was dominated by Naseeruddin Shah and its director Shoaib Mansoor, Khuda ke Liye gains its success. Mandviwalla adds that these two movies’ success have shown that Pakistani people have a good taste for quality films whether they are from Bollywood or Hollywood.
