p>NICOLE KIDMAN has dropped down the list of Hollywood’s top female earners with fellow Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon taking the top spot.
Witherspoon, 31, took the honours in The Hollywood Reporter’s list of highest paid female actors for 2007, while former top earner Kidman dropped down to No.4.
Angelina Jolie, 32, rose from eighth to second position, with both she and Witherspoon now commanding an astonishing $17-23 million for their work. Kidman, 40, asks between $11-17 million a film following a string of flops including The Invasion.
Kidman will have a chance to move up te list with the release of the much-anticipated The Golden Compass, in which she stars with British actor Daniel Craig.
She could also have a chance of returning to the Oscar podium with Baz Lurhmann’s World War II epic Australia in which she stars with Hugh Jackman. Third-placed Cameron Diaz, 35, reportedly earns more than $17 million a film.
The Hollywood Reporter’s features editor Michelle Grabicki said female actors still lag behind male actors, with top stars such as Tom Cruise, earning about $34 million with a share of the film’s profits.
“Men traditionally command a higher salary than the women,” she said.
