J.K Rowling fight for privacy

Do not just copy paste without mentioning the source, most importantly always ask permission first from the owner.

That unwritten rule of writing has been everyone’s knowledge, so if you break that..you’re bound to be sued.

That’s exactly what J.K Rowling had been done to the Big Pictures photo agency in Edinburgh, Scotland after they had publicized her son’s photo when he was 18 months old (without permission of course). After having lost the case in 2004, the Harry Potter’s author didn’t just give up, instead she took her case to the Court of Appeal.

Rowling didn’t want the money, she just wanted David (her son) to be free of unwarranted intrusions into their privacy. She won the case after Judge Sir Anthony Clarke told the court, “If a child of parents who are not in the public eye could reasonably expect not to have photographs of him published in the media, so too should the child of a famous parent.
