Accused of murdering a single mother..Shelley Malil pleads not guilty

that Shelley Malil, the actor of NYPD Blue, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Party Of Five, was arrested late Monday night for attempted to murder his former girlfriend Kendra Lee Beebe. If convicted, he would be sentenced to life in prison.
Beebe is a single mother of two who works as a licensed insurance broker in Carlsbad, California. According to witnesses, until very recently Malil and Beebe seemed to be getting along well. They were seen Sunday morning going to the gym together. Beebe was assaulted that same night.
Her children were in the house at the time of the attack, during which Malil chased her inside and outside and stabbed her over 20 times. The children witnessed it all. A neighbor, alarmed by the victim screaming ran over to her place and tried to stop Malil, but he fled the scene. The neighbor then came back to help Beebe who was bleeding abundantly. Wrapping her in a blanket to stop the hemorrhage, he was later told that he probably saved her life by doing so.
Malil, however, pleaded not guilty.
