It’s really a good news for Korean movie fans. The Korean Wave can be sustained in the long run!
Despite signs of waning, there are indicators that suggest that the Korean Wave can be sustained in the long run.
The US market for Korean titles has grown significantly, with keen response registered for hit films like The Host.
The US is also the second biggest market after Japan for Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation dramas, amounting to 30 per cent of exports, said its overseas business operations director David Ahn.
Japan accounts for 40 per cent and the rest is split among Asian countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
